Level 3 Communications has established a new Point of Presence (PoP) at the Brooklyn data centre of New York colocation provider ColocationGuard.

With the recent addition to ColocationGuard’s Meet-Me-Room, data centre customers will be able to access Level 3’s dark fibre and high-speed internet protocol services through 10Gig, 1Gig and 100 Mbps ports with an international reach. The collaboration will provide new resources to handle the growing bandwidth needs of both established companies and the emerging start-ups that make up ColocationGuard’s customer base.

To help mitigate downtime, the expansion of Level 3 into the flagship Brooklyn data centre will also provide increased redundancy for the network providers housed within the facility.
