Duane Davenport, formerly national account manager at Hitachi Data Systems, has joined Upsite Technologies as vice president of federal sales and special programs at the Albuquerque, New Mexico-based data center cooling technology developer.

He will oversee the company’s efforts to grow energy management products and service offerings in the government data center market and brings more than 28 years of sales and business development experience to his new position, Upsite said July 8.

At Hitachi, Davenport supervised national sales, marketing and channel development activities as well as led engineering and information technology deployment programs within the federal business during his eight-year career there.

He also served as major accounts manager for Sun Microsystems and worked with government and commercial customers across the western U.S. in that role.

Davenport also taught mathematics to special education and gifted students in New Mexico.
