Hurricane Electric Expands Global Internet Backbone In Canada with New Connection to the Winnipeg Internet Exchange

Customer demand for reliable and fast Internet connectivity drives Hurricane Electric’s Canadian expansion

WINNIPEG, Manitoba–()–Hurricane Electric, the world’s largest IPv6-native Internet backbone and a leading colocation provider, today announced that it has connected to the Winnipeg Internet Exchange (WPGIX).

“This newest connection will improve Hurricane Electric’s connectivity in the Greater Winnipeg area and highlights our continued commitment to the Canadian market.”

The new expansion will allow customers of WPGIX to experience improved fault tolerance, lower latency and increased network capacity through both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity. Additionally, WPGIX customers will now have the opportunity to exchange IP traffic, or “peer,” with Hurricane Electric’s rich global Internet backbone.
