Upsite Technologies joined the Green Grid to promote data center efficiency and cooling through proper airflow management, and Primeur Weekly wrote up the announcement. From the article:

16 Jul 2013 Albuquerque – Upsite Technologies Inc., an expert in data centre airflow management solutions, has become a Contributor Member of the Green Grid, a global consortium of companies, government agencies, educational institutions and individuals dedicated to advancing resource efficiency in information technology and data centres.

Founded by data centre pioneer Kenneth Brill, Upsite Technologies has been instrumental in bringing awareness to the issue of proper data centre airflow management, and how it can be a cost-effective way for data centre managers to instantly increase data centre efficiency while cutting costs.

For the last few years, Upsite Technologies has been offering data centre best practices through a range of white papers, including Bypass Airflow Clarified, as well as case studies and tools. For example, Upsite recently released its complimentary Cooling Capacity Factor Calculator, a simple tool that allows data centre managers to estimate the cooling capacity of their data centre.

Already, Upsite is an active contributor to the Green Grid’s Utility Task Force that will help utilities, end users, and consultants quantify the energy savings that can be realized by airflow management improvements in the computer room.

“The Green Grid seeks to provide industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies that will improve overall data centre and information technology resource efficiencies. By joining the Green Grid, Upsite Technologies is helping influence both developers and end users of data centre technology”, noted the Green Grid’s Board of Directors.
