ColocationGuard Adds Additional Bandwidth Capabilities To Its Flagship Brooklyn Data Center
New point of presence from international telecommunications provider will give ColocationGuard customers access to Tier 1 network connectivity.

ColoGuard Enterprise Solutions, LLC (ColocationGuard) has announced that international telecommunications provider Level 3 Communications, Inc. has established a new Point of Presence (PoP) in the company’s data center located at 882 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY, 11232.

With this recent addition to ColocationGuard’s Meet-Me-Room, customers in the data center now have access to Level 3’s dark fiber and high-speed Internet protocol services through 10Gig, 1Gig and 100 Mbps ports with an international reach. Additionally, the collaboration provides new resources to handle the growing bandwidth needs of both established companies and the emerging start-ups that comprise ColocationGuard’s customer base. To help mitigate downtime, the expansion of Level 3 into the flagship Brooklyn data center will also provide increased redundancy to the diverse selection of network providers housed within the facility.

“ColocationGuard is excited to welcome a global carrier like Level 3 to our Brooklyn data center,” said Ray Sidler, CEO of ColoGuard Enterprise Solutions, LLC. “With this new PoP, our customers will have the ability to tap Level 3’s global network for increased capacity, greater reliability and international reach.”

Level 3 provides communications services to enterprise, government and carrier customers, serving more than 500 markets in over 60 countries. The new PoP within the Brooklyn data center is part of ColocationGuard’s broader strategy to provide Tier 1 network connectivity coupled with superior data center services for the Tri-State area.

“As the only data center operator in Brooklyn, ColocationGuard is in a unique position to meet the needs of its customers,” said John Giambalvo, general manager, Northeast region, Level 3 Communications. “With the launch of this new PoP, ColocationGuard’s diverse portfolio of clients will be able to meet their bandwidth needs while maintaining the capacity to increase in scale to accommodate future business opportunities.”

ColocationGuard’s carrier-neutral data center contains more than 50,000 sq ft of available space and possesses the features that today’s enterprise customers have come to expect, including a high-density server environment with a fully redundant power architecture. The SSAE16 Certified facility is outfitted with a multi-stage security system, including integrated CCTV, biometrics, and a 24/7/365 on-site monitoring staff. All power equipment is built with N+2 redundancy in case of component failure and the building draws power from two independent power grids, backed by three diesel generators with 12,000 gallons (1 full week) of reserve fuel.
