A California-based data center infrastructure provider— which has been undergoing a national expansion effort — plans to enter the Lone Star state with a new office in North Texas, which will serve as its new southwest regional hub.

Fremont, California-based Instor Solutions Inc., which designs and installs data center infrastructure, has decided to set up an office along Broadway Avenue in Fort Worth, which will be its first office in Texas.

“The Dallas-Fort Worth area has obviously become a data center hot spot within the last several years,” said Jack Vonich, Instor’s vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement.

“While we’ve been serving Texas and other Southwest states for years, the launch of this office will help us better serve the growing number of end users and colocation facilities we work with in the region,” Vonich added.

Dallas-Fort Worth is expected to grow with more than 200 megawatts of potential capacity currently in the development pipeline. North Texas is attractive to data center users because of its reliable power grid, economic incentives and service provider competition.

Garrick McPherson, director of sales for the Southwest region, will helm the company’s expansion in the region.

In its history, Instor has worked for Digital Realty and RagingWire in North Texas. The company also recently completed an installation for a national health care provider’s 600 kilowatt data center and managed a data center for a national pharmaceutical company in the region.

Last August, Instor opened a new office in Ashburn, Virginia — which is also another data center hot spot.
