We’ve just returned from a whirlwind trip out to Las Vegas for Data Center World Global, held at Mandalay Bay. As we settle back into the office, we’re catching up on meeting notes, following-up on the multitude of briefings held with clients and industry journalists, and sorting through various piles of business cards. Data Center World is always such a great opportunity for us to see our clients and learn about new advancements in various facets of the industry. While in Vegas, we also stopped through the Channel Partners Conference at the Venetian. It was great seeing client Hurricane Electric and learning more about an industry in which many of our clients take part, in one aspect or another. Of course one of our trip highlights was our annual Data Center Reception, held for the third year running in a suite at the Cosmopolitan. Our pictures don’t quite do it justice! It’s a spectacular view and we really enjoy bringing clients, colleagues, press and end users all together for a little soiree.
This year’s photo editorial of our trip is a long one! Enjoy browsing through. We hope to see you there next year!
Welcome to Vegas! The MPR team starts to arrive.A bright and shining welcome to Vegas as we gear up for a few days of conferences and networking.Brendon stayed at the gorgeous Wynn Encore, one of our favorites. Not least because, if we’re feeling ambitious, we can always drive home in a Ferrari from the store right there in the hotel! A show at the pool! Now our real work begins! Data Center World was held at Mandalay Bay this year.Attendees flood towards the exhibition hall.Exhibits and more exhibits. One of our first stops was at the busy Upsite Technologies booth, expert in airflow management..The team is hard at work! Featuring Global Director of Marketing, Nick Friend, and Marketing Coordinator, Isaac Montoya. We proceeded through the expo hall, navigating a variety of creative booths. The Instor booth is ready for conference attendees! This year, the company featured insight into earthquake protection, including the ISO-base solution.Instor discusses the importance of earthquake protection with an editor of Electronics Protection Magazine.Further discussion with other editors! Our next stop was with RLE Technologies, specialist in leak detection.Editor of Mission Critical Magazine, Caroline Fritz, learns more about RLE from Director of Sales Operations, Kathy Collins.Another side of the display features RLE’s knowledge of monitoring! While at the booth, Caroline was treated to a demo on leak detection!Time to browse more aisles of the extensive expo hall.We facilitated another briefing over with RF Code, developer of real-time operational intelligence for the data center.More discussions about using RF Code’s CenterScape software license.Since Mission Critical is one of the industry’s leading publications, we made sure to bring editor Caroline Fritz to Future Facilities‘ booth, for a demo of their 6SigmaDCX software. The Future Facilities’ engineers in action! While walking around the show floor, Brendon and Caroline couldn’t resist just one silly photo. To data centers and beyond!Later that night, we all cleaned up for our third annual Milldam data center evening reception, held at the Cosmopolitan! (Curious to see recaps of previous years? Click for 2014 or 2015!)We enjoyed a gorgeous view all evening.
One of the highlights is certainly the “smart tender” digital bartender. Our “real life” bartender for the event even opened it up to show us how the magic works! In action! The attendees start to gather.Nothing but delight while using the smart tender.Deep in discussion.Everybody wants a look over the balcony, especially as the night goes on.A full view from the balcony! We were lucky enough to be treated to regular showings of the Bellagio light and fountain show, a fascinating experience from above!A complete view of the show at a mid-point.The next morning, we walked through the Venetian, on our way to the next event of the trip.Back in the expo center, the Channel Partners Conference was in full swing. It looks like even Elvis made an appearance! We caught up with a few editors and publications at the show, including Channel Vision Magazine. We were especially excited to stop by the busy Hurricane Electric booth, squeezing in a photo between the active traffic looking to speak with Mark Welch, Channel Sales Development for Hurricane. A great way to end a busy and productive trip to Vegas!
