The only event of its kind, the third annual Critical Facilities Summit (CFS) has been curated to examine data center and mission critical issues from the facility management and design/build perspectives.

The conference covers a wide variety of topics pertaining to the operation of such facilities, with particular attention paid to the extremely important issue of energy efficiency.

The event will be held October 5-7, 2015 at the Charlotte Convention Center in North Carolina.

At its core, CFS is a conference and product expo designed for mission critical facilities professionals, consulting engineers and design/build firms with a strong emphasis on the quality of its workshops, presentations and seminars.

The educational program is divided into six tracks to meet a variety of informational goals:

• Operations and Maintenance Strategies
• Energy, Sustainability and Cost Control
• Best Practices, Codes & Certifications
• In Case of Emergency
• Project Spotlights

The Energy, Sustainability and Cost Control educational track addresses how fluctuating energy costs and an ongoing focus on sustainability create an imperative for facilities staff to manage mission critical operating costs and resources. It also offers a variety of perspectives on tracking and optimizing energy use as well as developing a green strategy for mission critical and better budget management.

There are four diverse sessions to attend as part of the Energy, Sustainability and Cost Control track. The first two will be held Tuesday, October 06 at 9:30 a.m: Combined Heat & Power Benefits in Hospitals and Data Centers, presented by Nandini Mouli, Founder/Principal of eSai LLC, and Data Center Energy Efficiency: From Business Case to Implementation, presented by Christopher Wade, National Technical Services Program Manager of Critical Environments. The third session, scheduled for 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 06, is titled Smart Building Tools for Data Centers, and will be presented by Brian Durham and David Quirk, Vice President/Principal’s of DLB Associates. The last session, Innovative Methods to Improve Safety and Reduce Energy Use in Laboratory Buildings begins at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 07 and will be presented by Tom Checksfield, Senior Vice President of Business Operations Exposure at Control Technologies Inc.

In addition to these sustainability-focused educational opportunities, the Critical Facilities Summit includes more than 30 sessions to choose from led by 50+ presenters, all experts in their respective fields.
