Project engineered by Bluestone Energy Services will save Lasell College the equivalent of the yearly electricity usage of 14 households
Bluestone Energy Services, LLC, a leader in energy conservation engineering and project development services for a variety of sectors including industrial and retail, announced today that they have secured over $65,000 in utility incentives for Lasell College as part of a lighting and controls retrofit.
“These lighting and sensor projects will help Lasell achieve their sustainability goals and continue to lead in educational and social responsibility.”
Bluestone Energy Services designed and engineered an efficiency project for Lasell’s Holway Child Study Center – The Barn, the Yamawaki Art and Cultural Center, and several parking garages. For both Holway Child Study Center – The Barn and the Yamawaki Art and Cultural Center, Bluestone replaced existing fixtures with new LED fixtures. The garage project encompassed three facilities: The North Hall Garage and East/West Garage received LED tubes and added sensors, replacing previous T-8 fixtures. In Campus Center Garage, Bluestone replaced 175 W Metal Halides with new LED fixtures with sensors.
This energy efficiency project will reduce the college’s annual energy use by nearly 200,000 kWh. Because of such increased efficiency, Bluestone secured Lasell over $65,000 in utility incentives from NSTAR. Lowered lamp maintenance, lighting energy, and annual AC costs will enable annual savings of over $24,000.
“Lasell College is dedicated to promoting a greener environment and a sustainable future,” said Marc Fournier, Director of Plant Operations & Sustainability at Lasell College. “Our work with Bluestone reflects our mission for increased energy conservation.”
“We are excited to help secure significant energy savings and incentives for this campus-wide efficiency effort,” said Sean Fuller, Vice President of Business Development at Bluestone Energy. “These lighting and sensor projects will help Lasell achieve their sustainability goals and continue to lead in educational and social responsibility.”
Bluestone Energy Services has engineered several efficiency projects for educational institutions this year, including Massachusetts prep school Milton Academy and Boston University.
