The data center news blog recently featured Future Facilities for their Version 8 announcement. From the article:

The software company Future Facilities North America, which develops and sells a unique set of intelligent predictive software to manage data center infrastructure (Data Centre Infrastructure Management; DCIM), has released a major update to its DCIM-solutions 6SigmaDC. In version 8.0 has been improved mechanism for predictive modeling of data centers (the operation is now 5-6 times faster than previous versions). In general, the performance of an updated set of software 6SigmaDC increased by 2 times. In addition to significant performance improvements developers have taken care about the convenience of using the software to make it more ergonomic.

According to the Future Facilities North America, 6SigmaDC 8.0 release is a major step forward in the integration of the software with other solutions for the collection and analysis of information regarding IT-support infrastructure and server farm. New Gateway 6SigmaGateway offers enhanced connectivity of third-party data sources (sensors, servers, power distribution devices, controllers ACU) and enables customers to add capabilities already in use DCIM-making mechanism for predictive modeling of 6SigmaDC. The mechanism of predictive modeling, which is based on the CFD-simulation (computational fluid dynamics) and the scenarios ‘what if’, to reduce risks and to obtain accurate quantitative data on the impact of changes in the physical infrastructure of data centers before carrying out this operation.

Increased functionality and increased usability in version 8 allows customers to quickly and intuitively create sophisticated models of the virtual data center using special pop-up tips and component library data centers. This library includes nearly 3,000 most widely used IT-assets in the data center industry. It should be noted that when working on the eighth version of the software package was made more than 300 improvements, among which also includes significant improvements in the integration of files CAD.
