Mission Critical Magazine writes of Upsite joining The Green Grid. From the article:

Upsite Technologies, Inc. has announced that it has become a Contributor Member of  The Green Grid, a global consortium of companies, government agencies, educational institutions and individuals dedicated to advancing resource efficiency in information technology and data centers.

Founded by data center pioneer Kenneth Brill, Upsite Technologies has been instrumental in bringing awareness to the issue of  proper data center airflow management, and how it can be a cost-effective way for data center managers to instantly increase data center efficiency while cutting costs.

For the last few years, Upsite Technologies has been offering data center best practices through a range of white papers, including Bypass Airflow Clarified, as well as case studies and tools.  For example, Upsite recently released its complimentary Cooling Capacity Factor Calculator, a simple tool that allows data center managers to estimate the cooling capacity of their data center.

Already, Upsite is an active contributor to the Green Grid’s Utility Task Force that will help utilities, end users, and consultants quantify the energy savings that can be realized by airflow management improvements in the computer room.

“The Green Grid seeks to provide industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies that will improve overall data center and information technology resource efficiencies. By joining The Green Grid, Upsite Technologies is helping influence both developers and end users of data center technology,” noted The Green Grid’s Board of Directors.

“Upsite is proud to join such a well-respected data center consortium like The Green Grid,” said John Thornell, President, Upsite Technologies.  “Upsite looks forward to contributing data center best practices with the other member companies, leading to more sustainable data centers.”
