Hurricane Electric was recently featured in article in the Silicon Valley Business Journal about their new expansion. From the article:
A Fremont-based data-center company is beefing up its footprint thanks to $13 million in new financing.
Hurricane Electric will use the funding, provided by Bank of the West, to expand one of its two Fremont data centers by 24,000 square feet.
The build-out will provide new space for additional tenants as demand for data-center services continues to grow. The 208,000-square-foot data center, called Fremont 2, offers 15 megawatts of power capacity. The latest build-out weighs in at 3 megawatts.
One megawatt is 1 million watts, and is enough to power about 1,000 homes.
Hurricane was founded 18 years ago and provides Internet connectivity using 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet or 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet.
