Bluestone was recently interviewed in the Boston Business journal article titled “HVAC, cheap natural gas fuel job creation in energy”. From the article:
Sue Tierney, a managing partner at Analysis Group Inc., said that the Boston area is home to two major energy distribution companies: Nstar and National Grid. Nstar’s recently proposed merger with Connecticut utility company Northeast Utilities could result in some job consolidation, but likely more in Connecticut than here, she said.
Bluestone Energy, a division of OpTerra which is based in Norwell, designs and retrofits buildings with energy-efficient features. They help companies identify and qualify for incentives, and have seen huge growth in their business in buildings that house data centers.
Adam Fairbanks, vice president of engineering and business development, said they need a lot of different types of employees, from sales to engineering. His company runs a co-op programs with Northeastern University, from which they hire about 40 percent of their of their industrial and mechanical engineers. The number of employees is in the low 30s, and they’re looking to hire six to seven more this year.
