If you’re going to take the time and effort to write a company blog, the posts should resonate with your target audience. In keeping with this goal, the Milldam Minute posts in 2016 shared PR insights, tips, ideas, and strategies that we thought helpful or interesting to our readers. As we think about the topics that we’ll be writing about in 2017, we reviewed our own analytics to identify the top 3 most read blogs of the year and consider what made them popular.

Instagram for B2B: Should You Bother?

  • One of our first posts published, this blog examines the impact of using the social media platform Instagram. Just this year, Instagram released analytics and business profiles that strengthen the case for B2B businesses to sign-up. The blog also includes links to articles that show how other B2B companies are using the platform. Because social media is an integral element of almost all marketing and PR campaigns (to one extent or another), we weren’t surprised to see that the topic of social media would appear in our top 3 blogs.

Leveraging Public Relations for Trade Shows

  • This post considers how a company can approach their presence at a trade show with PR in the lead. Between setting meetings and running a booth, it can be easy to let PR fall by the wayside. However, as this piece points out, there are several ways you can leverage your public relations approach to a tradeshow for maximum benefit. Several examples include getting a press list, issuing a press release, and taking your thought leadership with you. Tradeshows can be chaotic and we found this post offers a quick (and clearly popular) checklist to consult while planning your own experience.

The Power of Public Relations: More Than Column Inches

From identifying PR’s value and purpose to discussing resources and opportunities that can be gained from it, the blog offers some high-level insights into the nature of public relations. Many of our other blogs touch on this idea of the purpose of PR, so we often link back to this post as a quick review of how we think about public relations and how you might measure it.
