Success in robust California energy market leads to appointment of new Commercial & Industrial Business Development Managers

OAKLAND, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–OpTerra Energy Services, a national energy services company that partners with commercial, industrial and institutional clients as well as school districts, cities and counties to implement comprehensive sustainability programs, announced today the addition of two seasoned Business Development Managers to its Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Division to help meet the growing demand for turnkey energy conservation solutions in California.

Charles Allured, a veteran in the energy industry, has more than 30 years of experience in providing energy efficiency solutions to businesses in the commercial and industrial sectors. His career began at the Energy Services division of Pacific Gas and Electric Company, the division which would in turn become a legacy company of OpTerra in 2000. Additionally, Mr. Allured has held several key roles at other energy industry leaders, including Director of Major Accounts at Sierra Pacific Power Company and National Projects Director at Enron. He will serve as Northern California Business Development Manager for OpTerra, based out of the company’s Sacramento office and developing partnerships across the state, focused on the Capital Region, Bay Area, and Central Valley.

With a focus on healthcare and industrial markets, Peter Morris brings more than 22 years of experience to OpTerra Energy Services. He also has a long history in sustainable energy and conservation, most recently with Optimum Energy in Seattle. Mr. Morris has held strategic business development roles at a variety of California companies serving a variety of commercial and industrial clients, including positions at PG&E, Honeywell, and Johnson Controls. Now with OpTerra, Peter will serve as Business Development Manager for the Southern California region, based in the company’s Orange, California office with a focus on supporting C&I demand across Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles County.

The growing OpTerra Energy Services C&I team in California joins a large operational presence of existing Public Sector Division activities across the state. Already building on a 40 year legacy of advancing the sustainable energy economy serving customers throughout the U.S., OpTerra’s California projects have helped over 150 school districts, colleges, cities, counties, and other government agencies achieve over $500 million in energy savings as a result of comprehensive energy programs. With the expanding presence of C&I resources, the OpTerra C&I and Public Sector Divisions will now be joining forces to meet the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions for customers from all sectors throughout the state including recent customers as diverse as Burbank USD, the City of Palm Springs, the City of Salinas, the City of San Jose, East Side Union High School District (San Jose), Madera County, and South San Francisco USD. With the help of this personnel expansion, OpTerra is poised to accelerate its continued growth throughout California and strengthen its position as a leader in energy engineering and project development services.
