Energy Manager Moves: Building Energy, Itron, Green Charge, Eaton, RMI, NREL, NYSERDA

Building Energy hired Chris Preston (pictured) as vice president of sales. Preston has over 15 years of experience leading businesses to scale software sales, both startup environments and larger companies including Microsoft.
Tom Deitrich has been appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer of Itron. Deitrich will join Itron in October, bringing more than 20 years of experience at technology firms, including Freescale Semiconductor, Flextronics International; Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications; and General Electric. Deitrich most recently served as senior vice president and general manager for Digital Networking at Freescale.
Green Charge Networks named Mark Triplett as its chief operating officer. Triplett will oversee sales, marketing and operations. He brings more than 20 years of enterprise software, utility, smart grid and demand response experience to Green Charge, most recently leading the Demand Response Management Systems product line worldwide for Alstom Grid.
In anticipation of Eaton chairman and CEO Alexander Cutler’s retirement at the end of May 2016, the company has named Craig Arnold as president and COO, effective September 1, 2015. Arnold will be appointed chairman and CEO of Eaton on June 1, 2016. Arnold has been vice chairman, president and chief operating officer of Eaton’s Industrial Sector since 2009, with additional leadership responsibility for the Asia Pacific and Latin America regions.
The Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) hired Iain Campbell as managing director of the buildings practice. In this role, he will lead RMI’s multi-disciplinary team working to influence one billion square feet of building space to become on average 35 percent more efficient. Campbell most recently served as the corporate VP of Energy, Sustainability, & Government Affairs at Johnson Controls.
Erfan Ibrahim joined the Energy Department’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory as director of Cyber Physical Systems Security and Resilience for NREL’s Energy Systems Integration directorate. Ibrahim will work with a variety of stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop cyber-physical systems security testing methodologies and resilience best practices that will enable the safe and reliable integration of emerging clean energy technologies onto the nation’s electric grid.
The Green Building Initiative (GBI) appointed Vicki Worden, a long-time consultant to GBI, as its new executive director. Worden was part of the original launch team that brought Green Globes to the United States and served as vice president of Commercial Programs for the organization from 2005 to 2010. Jerry Yudelson stepped down as the organization’s president after a 15-month tenure.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) engaged Cheryl Martinto lead an aspect of New York State’s Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) strategy. Martin will work with staff from all NY State energy agencies and the Governor’s Office to facilitate the REV Demonstration Project partnership process. Martin currently serves on the board of directors for Philabundance, a Philadelphia area hunger relief organization.
Bluestone Energy Services added three managers to head new roles for national accounts: Mathew Tuttelman, Chad Fiedler and Mark Macomber. Tuttelman and Fiedler will direct business development for national energy efficiency retrofit clients. Macomber will support the national accounts team.
Anord Critical Power, a provider of critical-power infrastructure to the data center industry, appointed Graham Carr as US Western regional sales manager and Rick Wright as plant manager at Sandston headquarters.
Jaga Climate Systems, a manufacturer of energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, appointed Alex Naja to lead business development for the East Coast of Canada and the US. Naja will be responsible recommending specific Jaga climate control equipment for each project’s unique needs. Naja joins engineer Cyrus Kangarloo, who is currently responsible for the Pacific Northwest and Western regions of Canada.
