PR TIP OF THE MONTH
Carpe Aestas! Seize the Summer!

Summer advertising campaigns can be perplexing for Marketing and PR professionals. There’s almost a third of a year between the nation’s favorite long weekends, yet it’s a time when conferences die down, company announcements trail off, and offices slowly empty by noon on Fridays. Our attention lags.

But there’s still plenty of activity from a PR point of view!

iMedia Connection recently published a number of marketing tips for companies to consider as they navigate the calm summer months in order to understand how to place advertisements and gain the most impact. See a few of the tips below:

Treat your creative like your face – don’t let it sit out too long

Just as the sun will burn your skin and cause some damage, ads that loiter on low-traffic webpages during the summer won’t drive sales and might take away from the beauty of a particular campaign!

Plan your ads as carefully as your Fridays – get out early

Or at least place your creative with attention to typical summer patterns of vacations around the 4th of July and the busyness of back-to-school by August’s end.

Locate your promotion like the beach at noon – hot and hopping

Geolocation tactics for your ad placement will harness your audience in the right places and at the right time for the most eyeballs, even as movement in and out of the office might fluctuate during the summer.
