Hurricane Electric has put another piece of growth strategy together, announcing that it has added a new Point of Presence (PoP) at DC74’s Charlotte, NC, location.

By establishing this new PoP at DC74’s “colocation campus,” new and existing customers will be able to gain access to Hurricane Electric’s lower latency and increased network capacity through 100 GigE, 10GigE, 1 GigE and 100BaseT network connections.

DC74’s customers will also be able to exchange IP traffic, or “peer,” with Hurricane Electric’s rich global network.

“Access to Hurricane Electric’s global network infrastructure and next-generation IP services will give DC74 a clear advantage over their competition,” said Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric, in a release.

The DC74 location is one of several new domestic and international sites where Hurricane Electric has established a presence in the past year, including Boston’s One Summer Street data centerTelx’s New York site, Copenhagen, Milano and Vienna.
