Global Design Firm Turns to Predictive Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Leader for Superior Modeling and Data Center Capacity Management Capabilities

SAN JOSE, CA and BALTIMORE, MD–(Marketwire – Nov 5, 2012) – Future Facilities North America (Future Facilities NA), a leading provider of predictive Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software, today announced that RTKL, a global architecture, planning and design firm, has selected Future Facilities’ 6SigmaRoomLite, an entry-level data center simulation software, for use in the design of data centers for its clients.

“Simulation is an effective way of managing both risk and cost when designing a new data center. 6SigmaRoomLite will enable RTKL’s clients to see the effects of design decisions in the virtual world before implementing them in the real world,” said Sherman Ikemoto, General Manager, Future Facilities NA.

To support increasing customer demand for data center design that leverages mathematically accurate power and thermal modeling to maximize data center efficiency and lifespan, Future Facilities has developed 6SigmaRoomLite which is a more accurate and cost-effective solution to other modeling software currently available in the marketplace.

“RTKL utilized 6SigmaRoomLite to evaluate the possibility of eliminating raised access floor from our clients co-location data center design,” said Jamison Caldwell, designer, RTKL. “By not being bound to theoretical discussions of cooling best practice, we were able to leverage 6SigmaRoomLite to present the effect of the design change in a highly graphical manner. This capability gave our client a greater level of confidence in the analysis and a better understanding of the holistic impact the change would have on their future investment.”
