New PoP Will Provide Improved Internet Connectivity and Greater Access to the World’s Largest IPv6 Backbone

MADISON, WI–July 2, 2012(Marketwire – Jul 2, 2012) – Hurricane Electric, the world’s largest IPv6-native Internet backbone and leading colocation provider, has established a point-of-presence (PoP) at 5NINES at 222 West Washington Ave, Madison, Wisconsin.

Hurricane Electric’s new PoP will allow carriers at 5NINES to exchange IP traffic (or “peer”) directly with Hurricane’s global Internet backbone. The new PoP will provide access to Hurricane’s IPv4 and IPv6 systems and services through 100BaseT, GigE (1 Gigabit Ethernet) and 10GE (10 Gigabit Ethernet) network connections.

Hurricane Electric’s new PoP represents the latest expansion of Hurricane Electric’s global network in the Midwest, following Hurricane’s rollout in May of new infrastructure in Denver, Colorado and Kansas City, Missouri.
