Leading data center operations Software Company has ability to manage data center capacity and extend the life of critical data center infrastructure

SAN JOSE, Calif.–May 10, 2012()–Future Facilities, a leading provider of data center design and operations management software, today announced that it has been named a 2012 Cool Vendor in DCIM and Related Toolsby leading analyst firm Gartner, Inc.

“We’re honored to be cited by a leading firm like Gartner, whose reports and analysis carry a lot of weight in the IT and critical infrastructure community”

The report examined five vendors with unique DCIM tools and cited three key findings:

  • Data center managers recognize that power and cooling represent major challenges, and that data center infrastructure management (DCIM) and related tools can effectively help minimize these challenges.
  • More than 60% of the data center managers Gartner recently polled will have implemented DCIM and related tools at some point by 2013.
  • DCIM is likely to be self-funding; the cost of the tools is likely to be offset by the savings in power costs DCIM helps enable.

“We’re honored to be cited by a leading firm like Gartner, whose reports and analysis carry a lot of weight in the IT and critical infrastructure community,” said Sherman Ikemoto, General Manager, Future Facilities North America. “For us, this report reinforces Future Facilities’ belief that simulation must be at the center of an effective capacity management and optimization DCIM process.”
